Tools needed for installation:

GutterTRIM™ by Advanced TrimWright, Inc. is a true "Boston" profile gutter that is installed using the same tools and fasteners as you would normally use to install a wooden gutter of the same profile.
  1. The GutterTRIM should be nailed to the fascia board ( fascia board of PVC is highly recommended) using stainless steel or galvanized nails or screws through pre--drilled holes, nailing through the fascia board into the rafter tails whenever possible.
  2. The GutterTrim should be installed with a fall (pitch) of ½" in 20', this will allow for proper water flow and assist in keeping the gutter debris free.
  3. Downspout drops are typically located at ends of runs and corners, for extremely long runs drops within the run are recommended. To install an ATW PVC downspout outlet into the gutter drill a 2" hole in the gutter with a hole saw and install an ATW PVCdownspout outlet in place using Bond&Fill. Keep the outlet slightly below the inside bottom of the gutter, place Bond&Fill around the outlet, place a bead of Bond&Fill around the outlet on the outside bottom of the gutter as well.
Important:
All joints, miters, end caps, outlets and seams in ATW GutterTRIM must be fabricated and sealed using Bond&Fill™structural adhesive and filler to ensure a strong, water-tight bond. It is also recommended that an ATW #20 plastic biscuit be used when joining lengths of gutter to ensure proper alignment.

For your convenience ask your lumber dealer for a Bond&Fill Gutter Kit. This kit contains the necessary Bond & Fill™structural adhesive and filler to bond two or more lengths of gutter together and to fabricate and join any inside or outside miters. Follow the instructions on the caulking gun adapter and on the adhesive cartridge for proper adhesive usage. After joining be certain that any openings in the joint, inside or out, be filled with Bond&Fill and when cured, sanded smooth.

Also included in this kit are plastic biscuits, that when inserted into the ends of the gutter assist in connecting and aligning of two or more pieces. These biscuits work with an ordinary biscuit joiner and a #20 blade.

Special Jobsite Conditions:
If your gutter is longer than 40' and has inside or outside miters an expansion joint of approximately ¼" should be left at each end of the run and where lengths of gutter join.

An expandable adhesive such as Bond&Fill FLEX must be used at these points.
